Joshua Bolton

I am a 19 year old freshman in college who is currently studying general sciences, but plan to transfer to a university to pursue aviation and flight training. I have 4 dogs, 2 horses, and a cat, and live on a 15-acre farm in the Southern bend of Cookeville. I have an older sister who is married and has two boys named Caedmon and Winston.

When and how did you first get involved with Lighthouse Christian Camp?
I had heard about Lighthouse through Brother Michael and through my church, the River Community Church. I also have plenty of friends who loved being counselors.

Where are you originally from?
I was originally born in San Antonio, Texas, and lived in that state until the age of 4.

What is your current involvement at Lighthouse?
I have volunteered to help for smaller events during the school year and Christmas break at Lighthouse.

What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Most people don’t know that I play Chess competitively.

Who inspires you to be better?
My family, specifically my mom.

How many siblings do you have and where do you fall in the order?
I have one older sister.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, it would probably be to Cuba or Peru. I come from a small blood line of Cuban descent and would love to go on a mission trip to there and Peru specifically to visit one of my dad’s life long friends and to see what it is like.

What do you like most about Lighthouse?
The mission that Lighthouse has which is bringing kids and families to Jesus. Spreading the word to those in need.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Buffalo Wild Wings, but Cheddar’s is a very close second.

How have you been blessed by Lighthouse?
Just by the community and love that is shared through the grace of Jesus Christ.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
Mess up, fess up, and move on. Keep your eye on the prize, Jesus will never lead you astray.

What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of Lighthouse?
love, spreading the gospel, and servant
