Judy Pavlik

I am the mother of 2 children. My son, Jason, is in the US Army and my daughter has 2 stepsons. I retired from a home care agency after 20 years. I worked in the office. I am from NW PA, Meadville. I have been married for 44 years.

When and how did you first get involved with Lighthouse Christian Camp?
We joined SOWERS and were heading to FL for the winter. So this was on the way. Also, I love the state of TN, it is so beautiful. This is our 3rd Sower Project.Where are you originally from?
Meadville, PA just about 45 minutes south of Lake Erie.

What is your current involvement at Lighthouse?
We are here (Nov. 2023) with the SOWERS Ministry getting set up for the Christmas Parties and decorating for Christmas.

What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
After graduating from High School, I lived on an Indian Reservation for about 6 months helping my cousin who was a missionary there in Wanblee, SD.

Who inspires you to be better?
Other Christians who have been through tough times but have kept their faith strong in Jesus.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Greenland to see the Northern Lights. I think they are one of the most beautiful things in all of creation. I have only see pictures, I want to see the real lights.

What do you like most about Lighthouse?
They have such a heart for the children in their community and other counties. What the camp does for the widows also is very touching. I have come to love these ladies – Miss Janes smile, Miss Pattys love of teaching the boys, Miss Janets organization skills, etc.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Mary Yoder’s Amish Restaurant in Middlefield, OH. We go there once a month with a group of our friends. It is about an hour a way from our home.

How have you been blessed by Lighthouse?
Most certainly I love having group devotions in the mornings. Getting to know the staff here has been a blessing. It seems like they put their love and heart into everything they do. I would like to see more youth camps do what this camp does, especially for the children.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
“Don’t sweat the small stuff . . . and it’s all small stuff.

What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of Lighthouse?
“Let the little children come to me”, Joy, Giving Hearts
