Glenda Baker

I’m born and raised in New Middleton, TN in Smith County. I live on a century farm in a rock house that my grandfather built in 1938. I’m a member of New Middleton Baptist Church and I work for the Dept. of Children’s services in Smith Co.

When and how did you first get involved with Lighthouse Christian Camp?
About 15 years ago I helped with getting Smith Co. kids to camp. Since then, I’ve helped with weekend retreats, CATCH, Christmas Parties and summer camp.Where are you originally from?

What is your current involvement at Lighthouse?
Registration at the Christmas Parties

What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I collect vintage ceramic baby nursery planters. So far I have about 15.

Who inspires you to be better?
My mother, Lucy Baker. Shie is the hands and feet of Jesus in our family, church and community and does it without boosting and bragging.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Greece – it’s beautiful and I’ve wanted to go since I saw the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

What do you like most about Lighthouse?
The grounds and the scenerey and how the staff shows the love of Jesus to every child that comes to camp.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Cracker Barrel

How have you been blessed by Lighthouse?
Just ministering with all the staff and meeting the kids during camp and getting to spend one on one time with them at camp.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
Give God your Best.
