David Revelle

I am happily married to Tracey, my high school sweetheart; together we have 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. I lead Shepherd’s Fortress Ministries, a ministry of encouragement to pastors, missionaries, ministry leaders and their families; connecting them with opportunities to take time away in various locations around the country. I also serve with the PastorCare Network, based in South Carolina, as Associate National Director and Regional Director for Tennessee/Kentucky. Additionally I have the privilege of serving as Associate Pastor of Upper Helton Baptist Church in Alexandria, TN. I have served in pastoral ministry since 1994.

When and how did you first get involved with Lighthouse Christian Camp?
I attended a Pastors & Wives Retreat as a guest in 2014, and began helping shortly thereafter.

Where are you originally from?
Blue Grass, Iowa…and now Brush Creek, TN

What is your current involvement at Lighthouse?
My wife and I oversee the bookings for the Pastors Retreat Home and prepare the home for guests with a couple who serve as Shepherd’s Fortress volunteers that we attend church with. We also help coordinate the Pastors & Wives Retreat each year in October. Lastly, I play the violin/fiddle in the caroling room at the Christmas Parties.

What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I enjoy reading the writings of authors from days gone by such as: A.W. Tozer, Andrew Murray, Samuel Chadwick, and others.

Who inspires you to be better?
The obvious answer is Jesus, through His Spirit. Yet I must say that my wife Tracey is my biggest cheerleader!

How many siblings do you have and where do you fall in the order?
I have one sister and two brothers, I am the youngest.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Israel. I believe it would deepen my understanding and the impact of His word in my life to see the places where Jesus ministered with His disciples.

What do you like most about Lighthouse?
The wide scope of ministry that is offered serving children, widows, and pastors. To God be the glory!

What is your favorite restaurant?
Too many to name…

How have you been blessed by Lighthouse?
I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the privilege of serving pastors throughout the year who stay in the Pastors Home and attend the Retreat each October. It is a blessing to see each pastor family leave refreshed in Jesus!

What is the best advice you have ever received?
“Preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” (given to me by my dad, Joe Revelle, who was also a pastor. He went home when I was 18. I can’t wait to see him again!)

What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of Lighthouse?
Faithful, Committed to the Gospel, and Making an Eternal Difference!
