Faith

Hey!! I am currently a senior at Dekalb County High school but in the Fall of 2022 I will be attending Lee University. Some of my favorite things include: Jesus, iced coffee, coffee shops, reading, writing, plants, worship, used book stores, thrift shops, hiking, baking, painting, and sunsets. I have a passion for public speaking and feel God has called me to be a Christian motivational speaker. I wholeheartedly believe that a life apart from Jesus is not living but simply existing. I want to live a life that glorifies God and when others see me they see Jesus.

When and how did you first get involved with Lighthouse Christian Camp?
When Dekalb High School was donating toys for the Christmas Party that’s when I had first heard of the camp. Then I did some further research and found the application to apply for a counselor position. Now here I am!

Where are you originally from?
California

What is your current involvement at Lighthouse?
Counselor/Staff

What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I self published my first book of poetry based off a season of heartbreak.

Who inspires you to be better?
My parents inspire me to be better. I’ve watched as they have both grown in their relationship with the Lord which has also helped strengthen their marriage. They inspire me to authentically pursue Jesus and to wholeheartedly praise him. They have consistently made God a priority and have inspired me to never make him anything less then the center of my life.

How many siblings do you have and where do you fall in the order?
2 sisters: I am the middle child

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Greece, because it is absolutely beautiful and majestic. I’d travel to Greece to just appreciate the culture, food, beauty, and nature. Everything is so bright and beautiful. Greece is definitely on my bucket list!

What do you like most about Lighthouse?
I like how the goal of this camp is to reach the kids who don’t know Christ. The ones who have been neglected and excluded from society. The kids you wouldn’t typically talk to are the ones we are serving. I am honored to be a part of camp that is focused on being the hands and feet of Christ.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Cheddars

How have you been blessed by Lighthouse?
I have been blessed by being given this opportunity to serve. By allowing me to experience God’s work at hand and to be a part of a community that is Christ oriented.

What is the best advice you have ever received?
The best piece of advice i’ve ever been given was from my mom. In response to a text I sent her she responded with, “Things that are worth doing don’t come easy.” This has been a reminder to me that sometimes God will call us to the things that are uncomfortable. However, we weren’t designed to stay comfortable but we were meant to be different. Being a christian is not easy but every moment is worth it.

What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of Lighthouse?
Community, Humble, Discipleship
